This year's SFC Porch Fest was one of the best fall events in Silver Spring: a free, all-ages neighborhood music festival a few minutes from downtown Silver Spring, Wheaton, and Takoma Park, just off the Beltway at Four Corners.
Six front porches turned into stages, two food trucks parked on the side streets, and the whole neighborhood came out with lawn chairs. Stay tuned here for next year's date, bands, and activities as they're announced.
Every year I sponsor Porch Fest as a thank you to the neighborhood my family calls home. Both stops were free for everyone, thanks for coming out.
Big turnout for the pumpkins this year. Thanks to everyone who stopped by, see you there again next year.
Free face painting, all ages welcome, back again next year.
Stage numbers follow the official schedule table. When in doubt, go by the street address.
Marked F on the map. Locations are approximate; look for them near Brunett Ave and near Stirling Rd.
Full set times and the band lineup live on the official Porch Fest site.
Not to scale. Streets are in the right relationship to each other, not true geometry.
We moved to South Four Corners in 2017 and never looked back. Nine years later, we're raising our son here, waving to the same neighbors from our porch, and Porch Fest has become one of our favorite days of the year.
Sponsoring Porch Fest is my small way of giving back to a community that's given our family so much. This year was no exception, it was a great day, and thank you to everyone who came out. I'm already looking forward to hosting and sponsoring it again next year, so stay tuned here for the date, bands, and activities as they're announced.
Until next year,
Olivia
